General Motors of Canada is instituting computerized links with suppliers and dealers to tighten production through parts assembly to delivery of the finished automobile. These measures are part of an ongoing drive by GM to just-in-time (JIT) production, a concept conceived by the Japanese and now widely embraced by North American auto makers.
