Describes the technically advanced six-car prototype metro train for the Ginza line of the Teito Rapid Transit Authority. The traction equipment features gate turn-off thyristors that do not need separate commutation circuits. The use of high frequency choppers with microprocessor gate control has reduced their size and weight and improves reliability.
