The LFICS provides, among other functions, the communications required to support tactical data systems. It employs digital transmission and message-switching facilities for the exchange of data. A computer simulation model is described, which serves as a tool for evaluating proposed network configurations. Diagrams are presented which illustrate a hypothetical topology, logic flow, switch processing and message-performance summaries.
