The F/A-18 Flight Control Computer (FCC) is a complex device requiring extensive testing in several disciplines. The FCC utilizes multiple digital processors to solve the F/A-18 control laws and the redundancy management task, and also makes use of extensive memory mapped I/O for its analog and discrete interface with the rest of the aircraft. This paper presents the method in which the FCC hardware is tested in the maintenance activity, and describes the technical aspects of the automatic test hardware and software developed for support of this system.
