Continuous Transit System by Magnet (CTM) is a new people mover which is capable of continuous transportation with acceleration of vehicles. Vehicles are expected to run correctly according to the inter-station run curve without any control. But the speed change mechanism is not so simply represented in spite of its simplicity of hardware. The analysis is composed of classifying states and their transient conditions, modeling of elements, formulation and digital simulation. The acceleration characteristics of vehicles show very smooth values which can be well applied to practical use as they are. Further, as CTM is a primary-on-ground system, some advenced application can be proposed and all the finding support the various merits of CTM. This paper describes the principle of CTM, its analysis process and some application.
