In order to satisfy future processing requirements for on-board aircraft navigation, high-speed avionic architectures will be used. Array processors are well-suited for the class of computations required. This paper describes the implementation of a navigational Kalman filter on an array processor, discusses methods of software design and optimization for vector machines, and reports the computational advantages of this architecture.
