Domestic satellite communication systems are now under serious consideration by NTT. An experimental earth station was constructed by the ECL in the Miura Peninsula 60 km sourth of Tokyo, with the aim of accumulating fundamental data on new domestic satellite communication systems and the practicability of their use. This station, with a Cassegrain type antenna commonly used for the 6/4 GHz and 30/20 GHz band, can carry out various experiments at these bands. This paper is an outline description of the station, characteristics of the main equipment installed and its overall performance.
