King Radio Corp. developed new automatic flight control system combining conventional flight director autopilotcapabilities in one 71-lb integrated package. Functional capabilities and modes of the system are navigation guidance with R-nav computer/waypoint selector for horizontal guidance, V-nav computer/selector for vertical guidance. Preselected desired altitude will be captured automatically. Speed profile or Mach mode, which incorporates Mach hold for turbojet aircraft or speed profile for turbo/prop aircraft attitude control displays give constant information; JLS approach monitor.
