Formulae are given for the major geometric properties of corrugated bulk-heads: “Elastic” and “Plastic” section modulus, shear area, spacing, depth, etc. Four corrugation types are covered: cold-form, built-up, rounded and “combination” case corrugation. While representing the geometric properties in probabilistic terms, an assumption is made that evenly distributed corrosion is the cause of the probabilistic nature of the geometric properties. The “as-built” corrugation thickness is also presented in probabilistic terms. The corrosion wastage and the residual thickness are treated in probabilistic terms as well. Thus, the probabilistic distribution of any geometric property is built for any instant or for any time period. Then, the probability of meeting any given renewal criteria (represented in terms of geometric properties) is calculated.
