The parameter identification and validation of a physical tyre model requiring computer solution is presented. The investigation refers to the steady-state working conditions. Comparisons of computed results and measured data are made for a number of tyres of different sizes and tread patterns. Two algorithms are derived for parameter identification. The first identification algorithm is relatively simple and fast, the second one is more complicated and more effective for fitting measured data. The agreement between measured and computed data seems to be satisfactory and good enough to suggest more refined studies aiming to give some contribution to pneumatic tyre behaviour comprehension.
