With the increasing presencePresence of competitive work environments, task design and motivationMotivation have a great potential to moderate stress in the workplaceWorkplaces. This study is a systematicSystematic literature review of this topic with existing literature and emergingEmerging trends. The review was conducted using tools like ScopusScopus, VOSviewer, AuthorMapper, MAXQDAMaxqda, VicinitasVicinitas, CiteSpaceCitespace, Harzing’sHarzing Publish or Perish, and Web of Science. BibliometricBibliometricsand co-citationCo-citation analyses were performed using these tools to show the connection between task design and motivationMotivation with moderating stress levels. The results of the analyses showed the importance of these topics with other areas like creativityCreativity, individual differences, and mental health. It is essential to understand these connections because companies are becoming more cognizant of mental health in the workplaceWorkplaces and need to design tasks to accommodate those issues. Finally, conducting research into task design and motivationMotivation in the workplaceWorkplaces, the focus can be shifted to educationalEducational institutions for future areas of research. These opportunities are highlighted by the literature review and analyses.
