Abstract Deliveries of goods in urban agglomeration distribution systems are conditioned by many factors resulting from the specificity and character of these agglomerations. Urban agglomerations, as a specific spatial and structural system or a multi-layered spatial structure, with a specific location, spatial organization and functioning, require a systematic approach to the design of distribution systems. The article presents the characteristics of urban agglomerations and their specificity from the point of transport issues as an element of the distribution system. In addition, these factors were identified that affect the organization of deliveries and determine boundary conditions. A mathematical approach to the problem of deliveries in urban agglomeration distribution systems for the assumed decision situation was also presented. Theoretical considerations have been implemented in the case study of the urban agglomeration distribution system.
