Abstract The angular velocity of the gyrostabilized platform (GSP) precession motion is described using the second-kind Abel equation. It is shown that this method offers the advantage over the existing approaches that consists in the use of a minimal number of assumptions in constructing the GSP drift model. The results of the numerical simulation are presented.
