Electrically powered vehicles are a propitious technology due to a greener vision of the modern world. The transition of traditional automobiles to eco-friendly electric vehicles integrated into the grid necessitates the installation of charging outlets along roadways and homes. These battery charging infrastructures have unfavourable and favourable effects on the power grid. The vehicle industry’s future technology depends on zero-emission electrification without compromising power system dependability and stability. The forecast for electric vehicles has been assessed, along with the ongoing pace of growth of Electrified vehicles. The electric vehicle drivetrain and several types of motors and energy storage technologies were investigated and presented. The possibilities of V2G integration and various EV charging techniques have been studied. The article scrupulously reviews the adverse repercussions of electric vehicle integration mostly on the smart grid, as well as recommended solutions. The implications of electric vehicle grid integration, as well as Power Quality Improvement in the distribution grid employing EVs along with control topologies of traditional and computational intelligence, are also summarized.
