Inputs of the Doublet Lattice Method are the mode shapes, as far as the translational displacement components are concerned. Actually, the doublet lattice code needs the equation of the shape so that the slopes can be effectively calculated and the fluid-structure boundary condition can be imposed. These tasks are achieved with the splining, which is discussed in this chapter.
