The economics of pricing from value are studied. An understanding of the seller’s costs as well as consumer’s needs and wants must be realized in determining pricing of an article. Various methods of value pricing to determine value in earthmoving or materials handling machinery are discussed. Value is a measurable quantity and is foremost in the eyes of a customer. It is a tool that can be used to measure competition effectively, and to evaluate product design and production cost.
