Reducing handling costs and aircraft ground time has been successfully realized by Canadair's “swing tail” Forty Four system of mechanized cargo loading. The competitive advantages of this system are obvious in the operation of Seaboard World Airlines, as described here. The flexible pallet and other equipment comprising the system have proved their efficiency in practice, and the data on Seaboard flights support this record. The most convincing testimony is that latest commercial systems incorporate practically all the units originated by Canadair.
