In order to accomplish the many belt functions required, V-belt product design engineers use many materials, construction variations, and production processes. The user, therefore, in order to obtain the best belt for the drive must secure a product evaluation. This paper describes the phases of laboratory evaluation, testing of experimental models, and field testing.
