Because of ecological, political and economical advantages, alternative fuels such as RME (or biodiesel) and rape seed oil are promising alternatives to diesel fuel whose importance will increase in the future. This paper investigates the influence of RME and vegetable oils on the limited exhaust gas emissions and the noise emission of three modern single cylinder diesel engines at different speeds and loads.
