In this paper a novel wheel suspension is presented that allows active steering and camber control for a rear wheel suspension. The wheel suspension can be used for simulation and verification of different types of traditional rear suspension settings as well as for evaluation of a dynamically adaptive wheel suspension. The test vehicle is a Volvo V70 where the traditional rear suspension has been rebuilt with a linkage and hydraulic actuators, which are software controlled by means of steer by wire. Thereby it is possible to independently control both steering and camber angle for the rear wheels.
