Aircraft utilization is affected by numerous factors. It is also influenced by all phases of an airline operation. Although frequently established as an objective, it is more realistically a result of the plans developed.The intent of this paper is to highlight and discuss some of the more meaningful factors which affect utilization, from the vantage point of a schedule planner, with the view that knowledge of their existence may contribute to appropriate solutions.
