As manufacturers continually strive to improve the efficiency and quality of their plant floor operations, increasing pressures have been put on Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to add value to their products and machinery. Today, the technological advancement and use of the operator interface (OI) is a means to meet this demand while also providing the OEM with a competitive advantage. By correctly matching the many OI technologies available against the application considerations, OEMs can now offer the option of further process improvement while also giving themselves competitive differentiation.
