AbstractDiscussion of the fuel cell -- what it is, how it works, its classifications, its performance in space applications.The classification of fuel cells deals with usage, operating conditions, types of electrodes or electrolyte, and type of reactants. Illustrations of types of feasibility calculations that are used to size fuel cells for a specific space power system are given.
