The history of small combatant naval craft is briefly reviewed and today's need for such craft is shown. The principal use of hydrofoil craft is in anti-submarine operations, landing craft, and minesweeping. Principal characteristics are given for the PC(H)-1, AGE(H), LCVP(H), and LVHX-1.
