An analyzer for diesel engines has been developed which enables rapid diagnosis of the injection system. This electronic device uses calibrated quartz pressure transducers to measure the instantaneous pressure in each injection line. The pressure signal from the first cylinder is used to produce synchronization with crankshaft rotation. The trace for each injection line is then displayed on a conventional cathode ray engine analyzer. The instrument also contains circuitry which gives precise measurement of nozzle static opening pressure, and timing and timing advance at various speeds.
