In the membership survey conducted this year, survey participants highlighted the need for ITE to create more and stronger partnerships with other transportation-related associations and stakeholder organizations. ITE has a number of long-standing partnerships with traditional highway-oriented organizations such as the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America. A very recent example is ITE's involvement in the new Road to Zero Coalition. ITE has joined with representatives from the U.S. Department of Transportation, the National Safety Council, and other transportation-related groups to launch the Road to Zero Coalition with a goal of ending traffic fatalities within the next 30 years.
