Extreme wind shears present a potential hazard to all aircraft flying close to the ground and have been cited as being a contributory factor in some recent major aircraft landing accidents. A great deal of research into wind shear has been undertaken throughout the world and this bibliography is an attempt to compile a comprehensive list of known published works on the subject of wind shear and its effects on aircraft operations.
