In part I the power spectra of the lateral motions of an airplane flying through continuous random isotropic turbulence are derived. Random variations of gust velocities across the span and along the fuselage are considered. In part II a simplified method is presented in which the gust velocities are represented as rolling gusts, yawing gusts, and side gusts. A sample calculation procedure is presented for obtaining the response of the airplane in each degree of freedon. (Author)
