Several suspension concepts are investigated for the purpose of improving the ride quality of military tracked vehicles. Areas of advanced technology required for these suspension concepts are also investigated. These include terrain elevation sensing, digital signal processing, on-board microprocessors, suspension components with rapidly variable characteristics, and appropriate control logic.
