The city of Louisville, GA, has prepared an airport master plan which includes development of a basic transport airport which will accomodate 60% of the business jet fleet on a 24-hour basis. The major development included is as follows: Acquire land for airport development, including runway extension, approach zones, and transitional areas (33 acres in fee and 100 acres of avigation easement); extend and widen Runway 12/30 from 3500' x 75' to 5000' x 100'; construct parallel taxiway (5000' x 40'); construct T-hangar taxiway; construct apron area (30,000 sq. yds.); and install MIRL, MITL, VASI, NDB and other miscellaneous development. Environmental impacts are described.
