A digital analysis process is developed for flight performance predictions of vehicle transfer in the near earth orbit. The parameter optimization problem is resolved by a gradient projection algorithm and a sequential quadratic optimization method. Sensitivity studies show the influences of some launching parameters and plane position limitations, the advantages and the disadvantages of the utilization of flood piloting mechanisms towards the rockets. Unlike the boosters, the horizontal takeoff is superior to the vertical takeoff for the air breathing space transporters, which are particularly adapted to atmospheric piloting.
