The report was prepared for the Government of Kenya and the Kenya Ports Authority. The study is the second of a two-phased effort to determine the technical & economic feasibility of the expansion of the port of Mombasa at Dongo Kundu on the South Mainland. The Phase II report: updates the trade forecast which incorporates the trends in the last four years and reflects the current economic outlook; upgrades construction cost estimates benefited by a soils boring program which defined the foundation conditions at the berth, upland & trestle crossing sites; develops a more detailed analysis of the proposed port facilities requirements & their capital, operating & maintenance costs over a twenty-year period.
