A method has been developed for recording changes in locomotion of canines performing on a treadmill. A servo-type device was designed for use in controlling the belt-speed reproducibility for each time cycle. Also, a new type of footswitch was used to determine the length of time each of a dog's feet was in contact with the treadmill belt; and the relationship of all footfalls could thus be established.
