The report concludes that a computer simulation of ship underway replenishment can be developed. A system of linear equations of motion for describing two ships maneuvering on essentially parallel courses is chosen as the basic equations for the mathematical model to be used in the computer simulation. The derivation of these linear equations is presented. A better representation using nonlinear equations of motion will be considered in a later phase of the study. (Author)
