This report describes the development and testing of a skid-mounted tank of 700 gallons capacity for transportation by cargo truck. The tank is intended for transportation of potable water, but may also be used in emergencies for transportation of bulk petroleum products. The development was initiated in an endeavor to replace the Ordnance 700-gallon truck-mounted water tank, a special purpose vehicle, with equipment easily concealed from enemy observation. Additional advantage may also be realized from use of the cargo truck for general hauling when water transportation facilities are not required.
