A Life Cycle Cost/Cost Benefit Analysis based on a ten year period has been conducted on the Pier Alter/Duress/Delay Subsystem of the Enhanced Airport Security Project at Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI). The Life Cycle cost of the subsystem is estimated at $532,141, as compared with a baseline system cost of $11,646. The primary benefit of this subsystem is in an increased level of airport security.
