The objective of the test was to determine the performance and viability of the SEA SHED system in a terminal and simulated shipboard environment. This report examined the factors which affect system operation and performance and to what extent the latter were affected. The interface of the SEA SHED system with standard container handling and transportation systems was examined. The report concludes that the SEA SHED is a practical tween deck conversion system which can enable containerships to carry large military equipment and other outsize breakbulk cargo.
