A qualification logic to check the capacity of spacecraft equipment to withstand pyrotechnic shocks generated by detonating fuses, transmission relays, and explosive bolts, is reported. The following are considered: the characterization of pyrotechnic shock severity; the determination of severity according to the different axes applied to the materials; a qualification logic; and the main damages and effects induced by the pyrotechnic environment.
