The report is based on a presentation made at the 16th Military Operations Research Symposium. It describes a procedure for evaluating the incremental military worth of allocating successive aircraft of the same type to the same mission. If a larger model is available which gives the relative military worth of different missions, the procedure can be used to optimize the allocation of aircraft over all missions. In the absence of the larger model, the procedure can still be used to provide an estimate of the incremental military worth obtained by allocating a given aircraft to any of several missions, or allocating one of several aircraft to given mission.
