Requirements are established for reliable aircraft of reconnaissance-strike-trainer type to be used in earliest phases of special air warfare through lower spectrum of limited war; design concept of jet close-support aircraft incorporating two fan engines of advanced design, high lift wing, tricycle gear, two crew stations in tandem, and carrying its payload externally on 10 wing store stations; mission profile and performance with particular reference to take-off and climb performance, flight envelope, maneuverability, and ferry capability.
