In order to support the Royal Norwegian Navy in specifying and developing a new generation of fast patrol boats (FPBs), FFI has cooperated with the Navy in several study and analysis activities. Following these, a testbed for human-computer interfaces (HCIs) in the operations room was developed. In the same period, FFI participated in a research program aimed at the next generation of bridge systems for high-speed marine craft. The work included developing a laboratory prototype of an integrated bridge.
