The subject is improvement and relocation of State route 20 in Colusa and Sutter Counties in and near Meridian, with replacement of an existing bridge over the Sacramento River. The proposed project will remove a large portion of the through traffic from the town of Meridian. The improved highway and new bridge will improve safety, aesthetics, and reduce maintenance. Relocation of a portion of the facility on new alignment will have a significant impact on the agricultural industry and on the various local agencies, such as schools and fire protection, in the area by providing a more efficient means of travel. The improvement will have a few negligible impacts.
