Motor transportation in consumer cooperatives is analyzed. Supplies and equipment, motor pool location and operation, freight-hauling procedures, conditions, and charging practices, and personnel policies are outlined. The responsibilities of motor pool, consigner, and consignee for presentation of freight to be shipped, intactness of freight shipments, and departures and arrival times of freiqht are detailed. Cost-accounting analysis of each section of motor pool operations is presented. The annual motor pool operating and financial plan is detailed. An overall analysis of the results of motor pool performance concludes the monograph.
