Domestic passenger transport performance in Norway increased by 0.8 per cent annually in the period 1990-1995. The last five years public transport has grown at a faster rate than private car transport. The most remarkable increase has been recorded for air traffic. Domestic transport of goods increased by 7.0 per cent in 1995. Road transport is most important as far as mainland transport is concerned, while ship is dominating mode in external trade. In this publication, transport performance figures for the year 1995 are presented together with other relevant Norwegian transport statistics.
