Three videos. Highlights information about prevention of boating accidents, collisions, explosions, and dangerous vapors and fumes. Areas of emphasis: collisions (5 min): analyzing collisions and accidents; importance of being alert; hazards of different speeds; boater's fatigue, and importance of wearing a personal flotation device. Explosions (6 min): procedures and precautions taken to avoid explosions; remembering to check for cracking, eroding and disintegration of fuel lines; the importance of using only marine rated replacement parts, and sniffing the bilge for fumes and vapors. Dangerous vapors and fumes (7 min): experiments are conducted to show how dangerous vapors and fumes occur; danger of carbon monoxide build up, etc. Primary audience: high school, adults, law enforcement, marine personnel, general public.
