This paper reports on research to determine the feasibility of developing methods to estimate, early in the system acquisition cycle, the potential support cost inputs of alternative avionics components envisioned for Air Force and Navy fighter aircraft. Support costs are defined as those costs incurred at the organizational, intermediate and depot levels to maintain avionics equipment and the costs of avionics spares and repair parts support. Volume II is a compilation of appendixes containing additional material to support the basic report, including summary evaluations of forty-eight key documents encountered in the literature search.
