The public transport supply is insufficient to satisfy the transport need of older people in rural areas. A majority of men over 80 have still driving license and access to a car. Most of them have adjusted their car use to their reduced abilities. Conditions to obtain a driving license for limited use should be discussed. For those who don't drive but still are relatively mobile, distance and location of shops and other services, the opportunity to rest (benches) on the way to the bus stop and shops, and coordination of opening hours and transport supply are important factors. For those who are dependent on others for transport, the different supplies should be co-ordinated and easy and safe to use.
