The project is a four-lane major collector route located along FAS Route 1385(2) in Cobb County, Georgia. The project begins at a point on Lee Industrial Boulevard approximately 1,200 feet southwest of Gordon Road (State Route 139), extends in a northeastern direction generally parallel to and 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile northwest of the Chattahoochee River, roughly parallels Queens Mill Road between Gordon Road and Bankhead Highway, extends across Nickajack Creek, and ties into the existing end of Oakdale Road at its intersection with Bankhead Highway (U. S. Route 78); the total project length is 2.067 miles. The project will positively affect the human environment as it will provide a much safer and more direct route between two major traffic routes, Bankhead Highway and Gordon Road, than currently exists. Special contract provisions will require use of temporary erosion control and pollution abatement measures.
