The traffic-density buildup following a lane blockage on a four-lane freeway carrying low-density traffic is determined for several different densities (0.0065, 0.0100, and 0.0106 vehicles per foot) characterizing the freeway. The time for the traffic to return to normal after the blockage is removed is also caluclated. The traffic-density buildup following a lane blockage on a four-lane freeway carrying high-density traffic has been considered.
