The proposed highway improvement will be a two lane, limited access, Federal Aid primary facility between Interstate Route 79 and U. S. Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, two miles long, to relieve congestion on the area road system due to heavy traffic entering Moraine State Park from the south. Moraine State Park is located at the northern end of the proposed project. Adverse impacts include alteration of existing terrain by heavy grading, siltation from run-off during construction, noise and air pollution during construction, destruction of approximately twenty acres of wildlife cover, and encroachment on Section 4 (f) land. Beneficial impact includes increase highway safety and capacity, and reduction of air pollution and ambient noise level for developed properties adjacent to the existing road.
